Ladies and Gentlemen…All Flights are Cancelled due to Heavy Rains
Many can’t understand why an airline need to cancel flights when heavy rains occur.
They will keep on insisting to go the the airport and be furious once their flights will be cancelled.
In the cockpit of the plane, the pilot will decide if its a go or no for an airplane to fly depending on his visibility. If it’s good, average or poor.
But the pilot is only deciding what he sees in the runways. With regards to the condition in the skies, the Air Traffic Control and weather reports will decide if its a go or no to fly.
The pilot will report to the Air Traffic Control if the runway’s condition is safe or unsafe.
Once the runway is slippery, no airplane will hesitate to fly.
Pilots are trained to fly in rain clouds. In normal circumstances, no disturbance or turbulent will be felt flying in these clouds but may cause few bumps and has nothing to worry about.
Planes are equipped with wipers for pilots to navigate better.
But for safety reasons, if the pilots or the Air Traffic Control decides to cancel the flight due to bad weather, passengers must understand that this is for their safety and should not blame any of the airport’s officials if an announcement will be made in canceling your flight.
